Happy July 1st!
If I’m being quite honest, the month of June wasn’t the most productive for me in terms of reading. Does anyone else feel like this year is just flying by? I’ve been told that this feeling is the sign of getting old, yikes!
I had picked up two of the four books that were on my JUNE Wish List! which are “The Bird and the Sword” by Amy Harmon (See my thoughts on it here: Review of “The Bird and the Sword” by Amy Harmon), and “Unseen Messages” by Pepper Winters. I still haven’t fully completed “Unseen Messages” but honestly at this point I don’t even want to finish it. I’ve put this book down so many times it’s ridiculous. Don’t get me wrong, I love a book with a higher page count, but this book just seems to drag on and on.
With that being said, I’d like to start fresh for the month of July. If you recall from my June Wish List, I stated that my lists might not always just be books. This month I’m including a technology list as well!
The first book I’d like to start with is one I’m transferring from my June Wish List:
Naomi Bowes lost her innocence the night she followed her father into the woods. In freeing the girl trapped in the root cellar, Naomi revealed the horrible extent of her father’s crimes and made him infamous.
Now a successful photographer living under the name Naomi Carson, she has found a place that calls to her, thousands of miles away from everything she’s ever known. Naomi wants to embrace the solitude, but the residents of Sunrise Cove keep forcing her to open up—especially the determined Xander Keaton.
Naomi can feel her defenses failing, and knows that the connection her new life offers is something she’s always secretly craved. But as she’s learned time and again, her past is never more than a nightmare away.
They call me Rage.
My real name is like a shadow, always close behind, but never quite able to catch up.
I fly under the radar because no one ever suspects I’m capable of the kind of brutal violence I commit each and every day.
You see, I’m a girl. I’m nineteen.
And I’m a killer.
This life is all I know. It’s all I want to know. It keeps the s**t buried that I need kept buried. It allows me to live without thinking too much.
Without dwelling on the past.
It all changes when an ordinary boy becomes my next target.
And my first love.
I have to choose.
The only life I’ve ever known has to die, or he does.
Either way, I’ll be the one pulling the trigger…
Be careful who you trust, for even the Devil was once an Angel.
My name is Jemma Blackburn, and I have a secret. I know vampires are real. I watched one murder my father eight months ago, and even though they tried to convince me it didn’t happen—that I’d lost touch with reality due to the trauma, I know what I saw was real.
Hollow Hills is now the place I call home. It was supposed to be my chance at a normal life. My chance to bury my secret and start over. But everyone around me is keeping their own secrets, whispering lies into my ears like promises, and one of them is about to turn my entire world upside down.
I thought I had it all figured out. I thought I had the answers. I thought I knew who I was. The truth is, I didn’t even know the half of it. There’s a reason these vampires
are still after me. There’s a reason they will always hunt me. Because I’m not human.
I’m the devil they fear and the angel they crave.
Only problem is, I don’t know it yet.
It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn’t much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children.
While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places.
MOST ANTICIPATED!!! ↑ My entire childhood revolved around Harry Potter, and the fact that another book is being released THIS MONTH is honestly freaking me out! I have to post a picture of my HP tattoo soon.
Canon EOS M3 Mirrorless Camera Kit with EF-M 18-55mm Image Stabilization (IS) STM Lens – Wi-Fi Enabled (White)
I really enjoy photography, but I’ve been using my phone’s camera to take photos because I don’t have a better camera. I’ve been looking for a camera that is priced semi-reasonably and will get the job done, and this Canon model seems to be a good fit for me. While it is priced at $599, the features seem entirely worth it.
Do any of these wish list items appeal to you? Comment below and let me know! Also, comment if you have any suggestions for books this month!
